Positivus presents a unique event in the history of Baltic music festival scene – the band Dagamba, State Chamber Orchestra Sinfonietta Rīga and Latvian University Mixed Choir Juventus will play on the main Positivus stage and bring a surprisingly expressive musical performance.

Even at the biggest music festivals of the world it is a rare chance to see bands performing on the stage accompanied by an orchestra or choir, therefore the performance of Dagamba together with Sinfonietta Riga and Juventus will be an exclusive experience for all the festival visitors. The musicians of Dagamba promise to change completly the perception of classical music and orchestral performance by presenting fascinating sound experiments. A little bit hooligan rockiness from Dagamba and bright instrumental accompaniment from internationally recognized Sinfonietta Riga and sixty Juventus choir voices will create a performance that surely will be an event to remember.

In the program there will be included original songs of Dagamba that in the process of creation have been inspired by grands of classical music. The arrangements are daring and surprising and combine elements of different music styles and times in a powerful performance. The listeners will recognise motives from Grieg’s “Solveig’s Song” as well as “Immigrant Song” from Led Zeppelin. Meanwhile, all the listeners can be already sure – this will be the first time they are seated in a musical carousel so full of classical and pop music hits.

Bach will go to Iran, Prokofiev will meet the traveling knight from the movie Knight Rider, Mozart will exchange experiences with Radiohead, hits of popular music and the most beautiful melodies from classics will be played. Countless and surprising musical rendezvous made especially exotic by master of rhythm Hamidreza Rahbaralam, who will be playing on a 8000-year-old percussion instrument.
