Yesterday evening’s positively charged performance by the British band The Kooks concluded the eighth Positivus Festival in Salacgrīva. The festival brought together more than 25 000 guests, not only from Baltics and Scandinavia, but also from United Kingdom, Italy, Netherlands and even from other continents.  During the three day festival, eight Positivus stages hosted more than 100 artists, including world renowned performers such as Kraftwerk, The Kooks, Ellie Goulding, King Charles, Elbow, Future Islands, Bastille, Temples, The 1975 and many others.

Although the official festival programme took place between Friday and Sunday, several thousand visitors arrived in Salacgrīva on Thursday in order to occupy the best camping spots, play some soccer in the Olybet prepared field and to enjoy the first parties hosted by Artūrs Mednis.

Friday’s main stage programme was kick-started with an energetic show by the Icelandic band FM Belfast, who provided some serious dance grooves for the impressive crowd. Further artists such as Cherub, You Me At Six, Phantogram, Future Islands and many more delivered further lively and energetic shows. The evening’s highlight was definitely the performance of British rockers Elbow who captivated and moved every spectator.

The festival’s second day was completely sold out, much thanks to the programme highlight – the spectacular two hour show of the legendary electronic music pioneers Kraftwerk. Previous performers Ellie Goulding and King Charles were also amongst the distinct crowd favourites. The return of the North Irish And So I Watch You From Afar after four years was a much-anticipated festival event as well.

On the third Positivus day, each headlining artist delighted visitors with their own spectacular performances, including AlunaGeorge, The 1975, Chet Faker, Bastille, Temples and of course The Kooks. The band concluded the festival with their timeless hit single Naïve, bringing Salacgrīva’s three day musical marathon to a beautiful close.

You can re-live the most colourful festival moments or see what you’ve missed this year until August 31st on all Lattelecom television platforms (interactive TV, over-ground TV and online TV) that will provide the Positivus TV channel, showing the most exciting reports from Salacgrīva 24/7.

Positivus Festival 2015 will also be hosted for three days. Tickets for next year’s festival will be out soon!
