POSITIVUS FESTIVAL ADDS FAMOUS DJ’S AND POPULAR BANDS TO PALLADIUM STAGE

Rock music in its most brilliant appearance, disco and synth-pop as well as performances from the world recognized DJ’s – Positivus festival’s Palladium stage announces new line up additions that include already well known bands as well as musicians whose promising career has just kicked off.  Moreover, on Friday and Saturday nights there will be special parties hosted by legendary driving force of New York Night Train parties DJ Jonathan Toubin, as well as local DJ Toms Grēviņš in duo with the street drummer from Israel Odedu Kafri.

Legendary parties, unique DJ sets of rock'n'roll and soul music and a talent to make people dance by the music from the last century they probably have never heard before. DJ Jonathan Toubin has created his own dance revolution and even though he is not keen on using too much sound effects like most of the DJ’s these days, his sets are full of energy and enlaced with the inspiration of rock'n'roll. Dance, dance and dance some more – that’s the motto DJ Jonathan Toubin follows and all of his party guests agree.

One of the most popular Latvian DJ’s Toms Grēviņš joins forces with the world recognised street drummer from Israel Oded Kafri. The sets jammed with explosive rhythm,  up to date hip hop and drum&base mash up’s will be a unique adventure for the lovers of music world. Grēviņš and Kafri for the first time played together three years ago during the Riga White Night celebration, this will be a reunion of both masters worth seeing in person.

The musically rich bouquet in the mood of psychedelic rock makes each performance by Garbanotas Bosistas a special occasion, coloured by love, peace and rock'n'roll. Since the similarity between the vocalist’s Šarūnas Joneikis and Robert Plant’s vocals is undeniable, often Garbanotas Bosistas are being called the Led Zeppelin of Lithuania, however the Lithuanian band has its own, special personality that is inspired by 60’s rock'n'roll and sound of today’s indie-folk. It is an atmospheric music for lovers of intellectual sound.

Ambitious, anxious and energetic - Moontalk comes with a professional post-rock sound while still being inspired by Brit-pop, indie rock and electronic rock. Music that excites and inspires; guitars that arouse for the most positive moments of the festival and a vocal that will lift you in the air. Pop-rock in its best traditions.

Disco and synth pop that is not not tied to a specific time or genre – the band Rīgas Modes performs ironic rock music which encourages to join band members in a crazy dance. Rīgas Modes on a stage can create a real, rockstar-like show without laser lights or other effects; they are energetic, joyful and full of life.

Music that is played from the bottom of heart – the sound of band Sigma is melancholically philosophical, conceptually polished to a minimum, allowing the main emphasis to be put on the interplay of a vocal and piano. The special atmosphere in Sigma’s music is created by lyrics of Latvian poets, including the highly acclaimed Kārlis Vērdiņš texts, as well as boldness to expose they nerves and soul. Sigma plays music for adults who appreciate the power of simplicity.

The trio Pienvedēja Piedzīvojumi is one of the cornerstones of Latvian alternative rock scene. The band has performed for more than twenty years and grown from underground music basements to the biggest stages; today the musicians offer mature rock music that speaks to you. Unpretentious melodies, simple reefs and sincerity in every beat – Pienvedēja Piedzīvojumi concert is like a rendezvous with yourself.

The clear sound of guitar in the manner of American folk and traditional roots music genre adds The Big Bluff atmosphere that allows to sense road dust, the zenith of summer sun and relentless spirit of adventure. Previously known by the names Acid Rain and Čehols, at the moment The Big Bluff gives its listeners an exquisite and unpretentious charge of rock'n'roll with elements of r'n'b and allows enjoying the music in its truest essence.

Since the band Laime Pilnīga was founded ten years ago, the sound of seventies hard rock has followed them. The youthful vibrancy and fresh sound of the band adds new value to the classical rock'n'roll, while the ability to experiment - a brand new sound. The dense sound of guitar as well as powerful voice of the vocalist creates a confidence that rock'n'roll will be eternally alive and topical. Joy changes with sadness, simple and sticky melodies with jumps of rhythm and pace - Laime Pilnīga creates real and true adventure.

The ninth edition of Positivus festival will take place in Salacgrīva on July 17-19 and as usual it is going to be an important event for those who appreciate high quality music and crazy parties. So far the confirmed artists of the festival are Robert Plant and the Sensational Space Shifters, Placebo, Kasabian, Warpaint, St.Vincent, Basement Jaxx, Tom Odell, Jungle, Charli XCX, Lamb, Everything Everything, Fenech-Soler, Jack Garratt, Ewert and the Two Dragons, The Sound Poets,  Kate Boy, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Triana Park, Max Jury, Soak, Peace, East India Youth, Indiana, Vök, Jennie Abrahamson, Rangleklods, Public Access T.V., Rival Sons, Ghostpoet, Inokentijs Mārpls, Momend, Laika Suns, Galvanic Elephants, Zebra Island, Super Besse, The Bongo Club, DJ Krankenwagen, Future Folk Orchestra, Parára, The Pink Elephant, Mona de bo, Alise Joste, Matīss Kļaviņš, Würffel, Sibyl Vane and The Werg.
