POSITIVUS SPECIALLY FOR CHILDREN – CREATIVE WORKSHOPS AND THE JOY OF EXPLORING
  • KIDS.jpg

To make the Positivus Festival a festival of art and music for the entire family, our youngest visitors will have possibilities to explore the world, to create and to learn at the Apovit SmartKidz Children Island, which has become a tradition already. The Apovit SmartKidz Children Island will be open through the entire Festival to provide the kids with a secure, attractive and suitable environment while their parents enjoy the performances on the six Positivus stages. Larger than ever before, the Apovit SmartKidz Children Island will welcome children to engage them in various activities.

Uninterrupted activities for three days – shows, concerts, workshops and other entertainment for children will create the feeling of their own little festival, and they all will have the possibility to take part in various activities.

Zane Blankenfelde, Brand Manager, Apovit SmartKidz: “The Positivus Festival is very friendly for families with children, and the tasty chewing fish oil capsules Apovit SmartKidz help take care of children's health to keep the mind bright and facilitate their growing processes. That is why we get engaged and help create the Positivus Children Area, which this year has become the Apovit SmartKidz Children Island. It will be a marvellous world of the Positivus Festival specially for children. Gripping activities, games, art workshops, obstacle racing and colourful recreation corners will be waiting for the agile, dexterous, smart and adventure-eager Festival’s visitors of the young age.”

The Children Science Centre Z(in)oo in their show Miraculous Things will demonstrate various experiments in physics, and the children will be invited to take part in them; also, there will be workshops at which bath balls, rockets and windmills will be made.  The publishing house Liels un mazs will offer the Reading House; it will be possible to explore the versatility of the nature in the creative workshops organised by the Nature Museum and the Nature Protection Authority will offer an insight in the nature treasures of the seashore. In the plein air workshop of children artists, the children, together with the workshop hosts and nannies, will make their own wreaths, crowns, bijouterie and clothes. There will be also an origami workshop and the educating and ecological wooden puzzles from Varis Toys to make extraordinary buildings and miracles of engineering. Furthermore, large-scale games and a path of sensations will be offered; in the evenings, good-night cartoons will be demonstrated; painting, drawing, gluing, sports games – everything that a real children festival must have. If the children become tired of each other or simply want to take a break, they will have a great possibility to hide in the cosy teepees from Tepee Tunana.

The folklore collective Airi will explore the Latvian folklore together with the children, teach to make reed pipes and play folklore games.  On Sunday, the culture space Trīs māsas will offer the play Wow, That’s Crazy Indeed – a journey into the world of the poetry characters created by outstanding Latvian poet Ojārs Vācietis; these characters will come to life in front of the audience and sing, dance and play, involving also the children watching.

The children in the Apovit SmartKidz Children Island will be taken care of by professional and wonderful nannies from Laumiņu residence, who will tend the children playing and entertaining at all times. We kindly ask the parents to dress up their kids according to the weather conditions, and put hats on their heads.  Only the same person will be able to take their child into and out of the Children Island, producing an identification document.

“Alfrēda stiprinieki” Alfred's muscleman and his brothers are great tree friends for big and small busy hands!
